Miranda Michaels is an 8 year resident of Asheville, originally from Chicago. Her passions lay in cultivating genuine human connections, finding laughter in all of life's twists and turns, and creating unforgettable experiences; she translates her love for event curation into her full time job as the venue manager at Devil's Foot Beverage's The Mule. When she's not working, Miranda most enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, playing music, and of course dance.

Kristy Johnson: I dance because it sets me free… it connects me to my body, my heart and to the interconnected community that we are. The intentionality of the Soulpower movements, music, and incorporation of the feminine and masculine as well as all the elements- air, earth, metal, Fire and Water- brings me home over and over again. I can feel the surrender and my individual and the collective vibration rise up and up. It is for all these reasons that I became a certified Soulpower dance teacher and what I try to hold space for and co-create in this incredible, joyful, playful, heartful community. I dance to connect, to re-member, to feel, to play…. Come dance with me!

Jocelyn Berner: It was Martha Graham who said, “Dance is the hidden language of the soul.” For me, dance is just that, an expression of my spirit and soul. In dance I surrender to that divine rhythm that lives in all of us. To remember, to be open, to release and shed all the stories that we hold on to. Every breath is an invitation to move and transform energy because dance is alchemy. Dance brings me joy and I am grateful to share in that collective heartbeat when we all move together.

When not dancing, I can be found cultivating my professional passion for interior design. My true and greatest joy however is being mom to my two strong, beautiful daughters.
